When the Intifada broke out in Jerusalem, Palestinians from Beit Jala regularly fire gunshots into the Jewish neighbourhood of Gilo in Southern Jerusalem. Zahi and friends on the Gilo side pretend as soldiers climbing up the concrete wall to protect the citizens from the shooting, shouting and insulting the Arabs. Rather than joining Zahi, Noni, a fourth grader and younger brother of Zahi, prefers to put on his mother's make-up. On the last days of the school year, Noni is chosen to portray the role of King David for a play that would be attended by the Prime Miniter, but secretly, Noni prefers to play the role of the princess.

The film takes place mostly in a flashback to the 1960s. As a custom, James marries Lisa though they have no ideas how they whould relate to one another, either emotionally or sexually. On theit wedding night, James meets Jacob, a total stranger, and uncertain about their individual sexualities instantly develop into a relationship. Midway between the two men and the young bride, a ménage à trois is born inevitably.
